Banks, AL (February 26, 2024) – Two Army pilots were injured after a helicopter crash in the Pike County area on Friday, February 23. The accident was reported near Banks that afternoon at around 2:35 p.m. According to reports from Fort Novosel in Dale County, a two-person crew was conducting flight training on a UH-72 Lakota helicopter when it went down in a wooded area. 

The two pilots on board were hurt in the accident. Emergency crews were sent out to render aid to the involved parties. No updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided.
