The deadly accident was reported at the 1500 block of Bankhead Highway, near Cherry Avenue, early that morning at around 11:49 a.m. Local reports indicated that a pickup truck was headed eastbound when it entered oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

The impact caused the car to spin around. The pickup continued traveling in the wrong direction on the highway and crashed into several other cars. Two people suffered fatal injuries in the impact and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more updates will be provided as it continues.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
