Gordo, AL (March 16, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision in the Gordo area on Thursday, March 14, left one person dead and another injured. The fatal accident was reported on US-82, according to local reports. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene after reports of a multi-vehicle accident.
Local reports indicated that 63-year-old Barbara McDaniel of Gordo, AL was driving on the highway when she collided head-on with another vehicle. She suffered fatal injuries in the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 61-year-old Cynthia Sullivan of Ethelsville, AL, was transported to the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital for treatment of sustained injuries.
