Deadly Head-on Crashes in Alabama

Prattville, AL - One Killed, Two Hurt in Head-on Crash on AL-14

Certain types of car crashes are more likely to result in life-threatening injuries. Head-on crashes involve two vehicles traveling in separate directions, and it should be no wonder that these accidents can be extremely severe. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) found that head-on collisions have a fatality rate of about 56 percent, much higher than other types of crashes. Although head-on collisions account for fewer than 2 percent of all reported auto accidents in the country, they contribute to roughly 10 percent of traffic fatalities. Careless drivers who swerve into oncoming traffic are known to cause these serious accidents. If you recently lost someone in a front-impact crash, you should partner with a qualified wrongful death lawyer to pursue a claim for compensation.

No one ever plans for a deadly crash. It only takes a few seconds for the actions of a reckless driver to change your life forever. Victims can incur significant damages, even in fatal collisions. However, when the victim is fatally injured, these losses often fall on their surviving family members. It can be difficult to deal with these unexpected damages while also dealing with the loss of a close family member. Alabama state law allows for a representative to pursue a claim on behalf of the deceased to pursue a claim for compensation.
