Semi-Truck Accidents in Alabama

Robertsdale, AL - Pedestrian Hit by Truck at I-10 & Cowpen Creek Rd

Sharing the road with a large commercial truck can be a terrifying experience. This is because we all know how catastrophic crashes can be when they involve a big rig or an 18-wheeler. An average of 130 people were killed annually in semi-truck crashes across the state of Alabama from 2017 to 2021. That is a fatality rate of 26 deaths per 100 million population. A fully loaded truck can weigh nearly 70,000 pounds, and when a vehicle of this size crashes into a passenger car, those traveling in the smaller vehicle will almost always suffer. Nearly 36 percent of Alabama trucking accidents take place on state highways.
