Deadly Motorcycle Accidents in Alabama

Prattville, AL - Motorcyclist Dies in Crash with Semi on AL-14

Alabama is the 10th most deadly state in the United States when it comes to motorcycle deaths. In a recent year, there were 93 motorcycle crash deaths registered in the state. Motorcycle accidents usually end in fatalities because motorcycles are less stable when braking quickly and less visible than cars and trucks. In addition, motorcycle riders have much less accident protection than people who ride in enclosed vehicles. In other words, in a collision, motorbikes are much more vulnerable. Alcohol use is the leading cause of motorcycle accidents in Alabama. In a recent year, alcohol was a factor in nearly 88 percent of motorcycle-related fatalities in Alabama, contributing to 77 out of 93 deaths.
