Eclectic, AL – Woman Dies in Rear-end Collision on AL-63

Eclectic, AL (June 5, 2024) – A woman was killed and others were injured after a collision in the Eclectic area on Monday, June 3. The deadly accident was reported on AL-63 near mile marker 15 in Elmore County that afternoon around 2:30 p.m. Local reports indicated that 54-year-old Tina M. McDonald of Eclectic was driving a sedan when she was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The impact caused McDonald’s car to hit a guardrail. The other vehicle then crashed head-on with an oncoming sport utility vehicle. McDonald was transported by ambulance to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car that hit McDonald’s was injured and transferred to a local hospital, as was a one-year-old passenger in the vehicle. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
