Livingston, AL – Mississippi Teen Killed in Head-On Crash with Truck on I-59

Livingston, AL (February 18, 2024) – On Tuesday, February 13, a Mississippi teen was killed following a collision with an 18-wheeler outside of Livingston. The fatal crash occurred on Interstate 59 late that evening as 19-year-old Emanuel Hernandez was driving a 2021 Honda Civic on the highway. Hernandez reportedly collided head-on with an oncoming 2022 Freightliner.

Hernandez was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. He was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The victim was later pronounced dead the following day on Wednesday, February 14. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews worked to clear the scene. 

At this time no additional information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
