Marion, AL – Woman Dies in Pedestrian Accident on AL-233

Marion, AL (April 18, 2024) – On Wednesday, April 17, a woman was killed after being fatally struck by a motor vehicle in the Marion area. The deadly accident took place on AL-233 near mile marker 13 early that morning around 3:45 a.m. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene after being notified of a serious pedestrian-vehicle crash. 

It was later revealed that the victim was sitting on the highway as a Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck was traveling down the road. The pedestrian was hit by the oncoming pickup. Despite life-saving measures at the scene, the injured party suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The deceased party was later identified as 30-year-old Tiffany Matlock of Brilliant. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
