Autaugaville, AL (May 9, 2024) – On Tuesday, May 7, one person was killed and two others were injured following a head-on collision in the Autaugaville area. The deadly accident took place on AL-14 near mile marker 142 that night around 6 p.m. One of the drivers was killed in the impact. 

It was reported that 26-year-old Jamarcus R. Thomas of Selma was driving a car when he collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 63-year-old Angela D. Murray of Prattville. Thomas suffered fatal injuries in the impact. Murray and her passenger, 25-year-old Melvin L. Barnes Jr. also from Selma, were transported to Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery. The circumstances leading to the deadly incident have not been determined. No additional information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
